What if each one of us was given the gift of knowing when we were going to die? How would we live our lives differently and how would we treat the people we love?
Is the community of St. Andrews ready to find out what matters most in life?
Starting September 7, we’re all going to get a chance to find out. Over eight weeks, we plan to embark on a church-wide (and community-wide) campaign called “Live Like You Were Dying.” Remember the song made famous by Tim McGraw? Wouldn’t we all like to know what it would be like to live life more abundantly, the way we would live if our days were numbered? Don’t we want the same for all our friends?
The Live Like You Were Dying campaign comes to us from a powerful team of leaders from Saddleback Church in California (remember 40 Days of Purpose?) and the weekly messages on DVD are presented by Gary Smalley. We’ll spend eight weeks looking at four subjects from the song:
- Live Like You were Dying
- Speak Sweeter
- Love Deeper
- Give Forgiveness
The goal is to have our entire St. Andrews family involved, so the Adult Christian Formation team will be presenting the material on Sunday mornings during Sunday school and on Wednesday nights as well. Any small groups who meet in homes at other times during the week are also encouraged to participate and the materials will be made available to anyone who is interested. Please invite friends, family members, or co-workers and neighbors who might want to attend. There aren’t any books to buy so all you need to do is show up!
