St. Andrew's Missions: Domestic and International
At St. Andrew's, we believe that serving others, especially the poor and disenfranchised, is an essential part of Christian discipleship. For this reason, domestic and international mission is one of the three core areas (along with "Forming" and "Caring") of our "relational ministries". We refer to these as "relational" because they are built on the idea that relationships - "communion" - is the essence of Christ's mission for the Church.
Members of St. Andrew's are encouraged - even expected - to live out their faith by putting their lives in active service of the kingdom. This may mean work among thosr in our own community, or joining a mission trip to Honduras. Ultimately, however, we find that local and international mission are interwined. That is, service to our community "stirs up" the spirit for mission elsewhere. While service in Honduras, or in other venues, returns to Seguin many-fold, bringing new ideas and a passion for people to those in our own neighborhoods.
