ST. ANDREW'S COMMUNITY GARDEN
A Sacred Space for All
In 2019, members of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church envisioned a place where faith, fellowship, and nature could come together to nourish the soul of the community. With that vision, St. Andrew’s Community Garden was born—“stewarding a greenspace to provide a place for the community of St. Andrew’s and the greater Seguin area to grow together in community, fellowship, and faith.”
Once a vacant lot, the garden has blossomed into a vibrant sanctuary. Winding paths, picnic tables, and peaceful seating areas invite visitors to pause, pray, reflect, or simply enjoy the serenity of God’s creation. It’s a place where both congregation and community can gather—reminding us that the beauty of sacred space extends beyond church walls into the shared life of the neighborhood.
The garden is open to all. Strings of lights tucked among the trees offer a soft glow, making the space welcoming even into the evening. A simple but important sign out front reads St. Andrew’s Community Garden—not Church Garden—a purposeful reminder that this place belongs to everyone. It reflects who we strive to be: a people open in heart and in hospitality, facing outward with love.
Thanks to the guidance and support of the Guadalupe County Master Gardeners, the garden continues to flourish. But like any living thing, it requires care. Volunteers are always needed—whether you have a green thumb or simply a willing heart. Join us for workdays every Wednesday starting at 9 a.m., and stay as long as you’re able.
To keep up with garden happenings, including future special events, follow the St. Andrew’s Community Garden Facebook page. And most importantly, come visit. Wander the paths, sit in the shade, enjoy the blooms, and know that you are welcome here.
