Pack the Pickup
Hey St. A’s, it’s time to bring in those donations for the Christian Cupboard! Let’s see if we can pack a whole pickup bed (or two!)–and beat our donation record of 1800 pounds of food.
Please pick up a brown bag and a list of items needed in the Narthex of the church and bring it back stuffed with food on Palm Sunday, March 24th. There will be trucks parked on Crockett St near the garden ready to be packed full. All items will be donated to the Christian Cupboard. There will be helpers to assist you in getting your bags into the trucks. Want to get involved? We need volunteers after the 10 am service, between 11:45 am and noon, to deliver our donations to the Christian Cupboard and help unload them. Below is a suggested list of items that are needed, but all non-perishable items are welcome:
Flour
Cereal
Sugar
Pasta: spaghetti
Masa (corn flour)
Macaroni and Cheese
Dried pinto beans
Raman
Rice
Spam
Vegetable oil
Diapers
Vegetable shortening
Canned chicken or tuna
Canned spaghetti and meat sauce
Canned stew
Vienna Sausages
Canned vegetables: green beans, peas, corn
Canned fruit: fruit cocktail, pineapple, peaches
Canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste
Peanut butter and Jelly
Paper grocery bags with shopping lists can be found in the back of the Chapel and in the narthex of the church, so be sure to grab yours!
Monetary donations are also welcome. If you cannot be in church on March 24th, you can leave your bags of non-perishable groceries in the church office the week before. Thank you for supporting this community outreach ministry!
