LAURA COCHRAN
Laura, a parishioner of St. Andrew’s, steps in to the Finance Administrator position with a spirit of wisdom, experience, enthusiasm, and a vision that promises growth. She is a graduate in Business Administration at UT and worked for over two decades in the Cash and Credit Management Division at Texas Tech as Lead Analyst.
LEO GARCIA
Leo Garcia is in his second year serving as the choir director and cantor at St. Andrew’s. He also serves as the choir director at Seguin High School and sings professionally with IlluMen, a men’s choir based in San Antonio. He most loves getting to create beautiful music with the St. Andrew’s choir, the musicians, and with the congregation, all for the glory of God.
WENDI GUSTAFSON
Wendi Gustafson began her career in church music attending choir practices in an infant carrier with her parents. She had her organ debut in 7th grade, playing for the Easter Sunrise Service. In 2014, she graduated summa cum laude from Texas Lutheran University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music. Her organ teachers have included Dr. Ed Rieke, Ms. Gayle Morris, and Dr. David Fienen. The thing she loves most about St. Andrew’s is the incredibly beautiful and meaningful music of the Anglican tradition. “The first time I heard Anglican Chant, I knew I had entered into a holy place.”
HANNAH HANSEN
For those of you who do not know me, my name is Hannah Hansen and I am the program director for the Compass Cooperative program! We are a program that welcomes all youth for who they are and invites them to explore their faith and build their relationship with God in a safe space through different bible studies, games, and other fun opportunities!
As a reminder, in case you are unfamiliar with this program, Compass Cooperative is a 6th-12th grade youth program dreamt up and sponsored by four churches in the Seguin and surrounding areas. These churches are Emanuel’s Lutheran Church, Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, and Friedens United Church of Christ. Throughout the school year, we meet every Sunday from 6-7 pm at Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church for an hour of dinner, games, and bible study! There are other opportunities for retreats, volunteering, and more throughout the year as well.
I graduated from Texas Lutheran University in May of 2024 with my B.A. in Theology with a focus in Youth Ministry and my B.A in Psychology. I grew up in San Antonio and have always been heavily involved within my church. I love to cook, bake, craft, and play board games! I also love being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with my friends, family, and my cat. I am sincerely looking forward to building relationships with youth in the area and being there for them during this important time of their faith journey.
I am so excited to hopefully meet more of you soon and get your teens involved in this fun and faith-filled program!
CHARLENE VARDEMAN

I have been blessed with a wonderful family of 4, my husband of 18 years and my 2 teenage boys.
